Who We Are
Welcome to the Rise Up Family Fellowship Church. We are a welcoming community focused on Biblical principles of worship, the Word of God, family values and Christian fellowship. Our congregation filled with children, youth, adults and seniors.
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, the Trinity, salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, baptism in the Holy Spirit, divine healing, and the imminent second coming of Christ.
We are an independent fellowship of believers that receives oversight and spiritual direction from the Assemblies of God, International and the Oregon Ministry Network.
The following is a list of our primary tenants of faith:
1. THE BIBLE IS INSPIRED - We believe the entire Bible is inspired by God, without error, and serves as the ultimate authority for our faith, beliefs, and daily lives. Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
2. THERE IS ONE TRUE GOD - We believe in one eternal, all-powerful God, the Creator of heaven and earth, who reveals Himself in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one LORD.”
3. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS FULLY GOD - We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of God. John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
4. HUMANKIND FELL AS A RESULT OF SIN - We believe God created humankind in His image, but through willful disobedience, humanity fell into sin, bringing physical and spiritual death and separation from God. Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin"; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”
5. GOD OFFERS SALVATION THROUGH HIS SON JESUS - We believe salvation is a free gift from God, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, whose death and resurrection provide forgiveness of sins, spiritual renewal, and the promise of eternal life. Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
6. OUR CHURCH PRACTICES TWO ORDINANCES - We believe Jesus Christ established two sacred ordinances for the Church: water baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith and Holy Communion as a remembrance of His sacrifice, death, and promised return. 1 Corinthians 11: 26 “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.”
7. THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT IS FOR EVERYONE - We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift promised to all believers, empowering them to live holy lives, grow closer to God, and serve Him boldly through spiritual gifts. Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
8. THERE IS AN INITIAL PHYSICAL EVIDENCE OF THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT - We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a spiritual experience following salvation, with the initial physical evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives believers the ability to speak. Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the spirit gave them utterance.”
9. SANCTIFICATION IS A PROCESS THAT ALIGNS US WITH GOD - We believe sanctification is a lifelong process of spiritual growth in which believers, through the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s Word, turn away from sin and become more like Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:15 - 16 “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for i am holy.”
10. GOD DESIGNED THE CHURCH FOR A PURPOSE AND MISSION - We believe the Church is the body of Christ, united in faith and called to worship God, share the Gospel, strengthen believers, and demonstrate His love through serving others. Mathew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Farther, and of the Son, and the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever i have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
11. GOD CALLS SOME TO LEAD IN MINISTRY - We believe God calls and equips spiritual leaders to guide His Church in worship, spreading the Gospel, strengthening believers, and serving others with love and compassion. Ephesians 4:11 “And he gave some, apostles; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”
12. GOD PROVIDES HEALING THROUGH THE ATONEMENT - We believe divine healing is part of God’s provision through the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and that all believers can seek His healing power through faith and prayer. Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
13. OUR FUTURE IS ANCHORED IN THE BLESSED HOPE - We believe in the promised return of Jesus Christ, when believers who have died will be resurrected and those who are living will be caught up to meet Him, bringing the blessed hope of eternal life with God. 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
14. CHRIST WILL RULE THE EARTH FOR A MILLENNIUM - We believe Jesus Christ will visibly return to earth with His saints to reign for one thousand years, establishing His perfect kingdom of righteousness, justice, and peace. Revelation 20:6 "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."
15. THERE WILL BE A FINAL JUDGEMENT FOR ALL - We believe God will bring a final judgment upon those who have rejected His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, resulting in eternal separation from Him and everlasting punishment. Revelation 20:15 "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
16. CHRISTIANS WILL ENJOY THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH - We believe God will create a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness, peace, and joy will reign, and all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ will dwell with Him forever. 2 Peter 3:13 "Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."
